Ask Chris

03/02/2010 in Miscellaneous

Over the last few weeks, I have a noticed an increase in the use of anonymous question forms on the blogs I follow. Some people don’t really like them, but I think they are kind of fun. Gabe and I have had one on our radio show site for a few weeks now (which has led to some very interesting discussions – see Episode 8’s segment regarding cannibalism), and I’ve decided to add one here as well. I’m hoping this will allow me to practice my creative writing skills and add some variety to this here blog space. A question is all that’s required; however, if you leave your name I’ll mention that as well when I answer your question.

So without further ado, go on and ask me a question.

Update 03/08/2010: I took the Ask Chris page down because no one asked anything. It might return later.

Nesting

Amy has blogged a bit about our birds and their new bright pink nest. I’m always amazed at their industriousness. Here are a few more pictures as well.

Hot pink nest

From “Failing and Flying” by Jack Gilbert:

Everyone forgets that Icarus also flew.
It’s the same when love comes to an end,
or the marriage fails and people say
they knew it was a mistake, that everybody
said it would never work. That she was
old enough to know better. But anything
worth doing is worth doing badly.

and…

I believe Icarus was not failing as he fell,
but just coming to the end of his triumph.
